Who travels with Made By Afous?

People of all ages travel with us — we’ve had participants from all ages.
We welcome solo travellers as well as friends or family travelling together. Our groups are often international, which enriches the cultural experience.

Travellers tend to share common interests: discovering artisans, learning new skills, connecting with people, and enjoying culture and craftsmanship.

👉 If you're under 18, you must be accompanied by an adult.

How do I sign up for a trip?

  1. Review the itinerary, practical information and conditions in the Trips section.

  2. If the trip is right for you, pay the £400 deposit and complete the registration form. Email us at dgallenti@gmail.com so we can send you the registration form by mail.

  3. Do not book your flight until the group is confirmed (we’ll notify you by email).

  4. Once confirmed, we’ll ask you to pay the remaining amount and purchase your flights.

What payment methods are available?

  • Deposit : £400

  • Remaining amount: paid by bank transfer or card.

  • All payments are made in pound.

What’s included in the trip?

Each trip page contains full details, but trips always include:

  • Accommodation

  • Internal transport (minibus, van, boat, train, etc.)

  • All meals

  • Workshops and visits to artisan studios

  • Trip leader / guide

Is airfare included?

No. As travellers join us from different countries, flights are not included.
The meeting point will be either the destination airport or the hotel, if you arrive independently.

What’s not included?

  • Flights

  • Alcoholic drinks

  • Travel insurance

  • Visa fees and any required entry/exit taxes

  • Travel medical insurance is mandatory.

  • If travelling within the EU and you’re an EU citizen, we recommend bringing your European Health Insurance Card.

Do I need a visa?

It depends on your nationality and the destination. Requirements can vary, so we recommend checking with your government’s travel advice service or consulate before departure.

Can I find out who else is going on the trip?

For privacy reasons, we do not share personal information about other travellers before the trip.

Before departure, we create an optional WhatsApp group so you can get to know your fellow travellers.

How many people are in each group?

We work with small groups of 7 to 8 travellers to encourage connection and a sense of community.

Will I have free time?

Yes. On longer trips there are usually some half days free clearly indicated in the itinerary.

Can I request a single room?

  • Accommodation is typically shared (twin rooms with bathroom) to support group bonding.

  • On some trips you may request a single room for an additional fee, always with a private bathroom.

  • Please note that in some itineraries the accommodation are simple rural lodges, and travellers must be prepared to share and adapt. We will spend 2 to 4 days in remote regions where facilities may be limited. When available, we select accommodation of a high standard

Can I bring a partner or friend who doesn’t want to join the workshops?

Yes, but please contact us before booking.
We do recommend that everyone is open to joining group activities in order to share the experience, even if they do not take part in the workshops.

How does the waiting list work?

If a trip is fully booked, you can join the waiting list.
We notify people on the list first, before announcing spaces on social media or in the newsletter.
The first person to confirm and register secures the place.

What is your cancellation policy?

We recommend that you review the booking and cancellation conditions carefully before signing up.

I have dietary requirements and/or allergies. Can I join?

Yes. We always offer vegetarian and vegan options and can adapt to allergies or intolerances (coeliac, lactose-free, etc.).
You’ll be able to indicate your requirements in the registration form.
