The Atlas Experience
An unforgettable adventure through Morocco’s rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and timeless traditions.
Together with Natalya from Experience Ukraine & Beyond, I’m organising guided tours of the Siroua Mountains in Morocco.
Following the success of our inaugural journeys in October 2025 and April 2026, we are delighted to return with updated itineraries for October 2026 and April 2027. These new departures will offer an even deeper cultural immersion and a more refined experience of the region.
To receive the full itinerary or to find out more, please get in touch at dgallenti@gmail.com.
If you are unable to join either of these departures, you are welcome to register your interest in future tours by signing up via the mailing list form at the bottom of this page.
We are also developing a new Sicily experience, which will be announced soon and will include an exciting surprise.
The Plan
two dates available
5th to 12th October 2026
and
14th to 21st April 2027
Siroua: A Region of Beauty and Heritage
Our route leads us deep into the remote mountains of southern Morocco, where we’ll explore the Siroua region, home to the Aït Ouaouzguite tribe and the mesmerizing art of Berber rug weaving. This tradition, passed down from mother to daughter, is more than a craft — it’s an integral part of the local economy and culture.
You’ll have the rare opportunity to witness the intricate weaving process firsthand, meeting artisans who patiently create these works of art.
As we traverse deserts, lunar landscapes, palm-filled oases, and lush green valleys, you’ll discover how this age-old skill is still thriving today.
Our Mountain Guide
Accompanying us on this journey will be Jamal Amrray,a native of the region with a passion for local culture, Jamal is an extraordinary mountain guide. He has been actively involved with “the Siroua Wool Project” , a local cooperative focused on improving wool production and quality. He has dedicated significant time and effort to supporting the cooperative’s development, particularly through collaboration with international professionals who provided specialized expertise and training. He will lead our group with his expertise and passion for the country’s natural beauty. Along the way, we’ll trek through valleys, visit Berber villages, and engage with local women who will share their weaving techniques, offering an authentic and immersive experience.
Marrakech: The Perfect Finale
As our journey draws to a close, we make our way to Marrakech, the “Red City” - a vibrant city known for its lively souks, historic medina, and iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa sqaure. Marrakech offers the perfect contrast to the quiet, rustic beauty of Taroudant and the mountains.
This bustling city will provide a fitting conclusion to our adventure, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Morocco’s rich cultural tapestry.
